Kenyan Fintech, Yiksi, Secures South African FSCA Authorisation

Kenyan-headquartered fintech Yiksi has secured authorization from South Africa’s Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA), creating a regulatory foundation for its expansion into the country’s digital finance market.

Through its South African entity, Yiksi Fintech (Pty) Ltd, the company received Category I Financial Services Provider authorization for crypto assets under registration number 55213. Yiksi operates Taran App, Yiksi Wallet, and Yiksi Pay for merchants, which are designed to connect local payment systems with stablecoins, support cross-border transfers, and enable businesses to accept digital payments.

The company says the authorization will support its expansion plans and efforts to establish banking, liquidity, and payment partnerships in South Africa. According to founder and CEO Bile Ahmed Kabah, the approval reinforces Yiksi’s commitment to regulatory accountability and customer trust.

The authorization strengthens Yiksi’s position in South Africa as it pursues its wider ambition of connecting African payment systems to the global digital economy.
