Israel’s largest bank, Bank Leumi, has partnered with Galaxy Digital to offer cryptocurrency trading to its customers, becoming the first Israeli bank to announce plans for a crypto trading service. The service is expected to launch in early 2027, subject to regulatory approval.
Customers of Bank Leumi and its digital banking unit, Pepper, will be able to buy, hold, and sell Bitcoin, Ether, and Solana through Leumi’s Leumi Trade investment app. Galaxy Digital will provide the trading and custody infrastructure supporting the service, allowing customers to access digital assets through their existing banking relationship rather than relying on a separate crypto exchange.
The move comes as traditional financial institutions increasingly integrate digital assets into their existing investment and banking services.
The planned service still requires approval from the Bank of Israel before it can launch. If approved, Leumi would become the first Israeli bank to offer customers direct cryptocurrency trading through its banking platform. The partnership marks another step in the growing integration of crypto into traditional financial services. By bringing Bitcoin, Ether, and Solana trading directly into its banking infrastructure, Bank Leumi could make digital asset access significantly more mainstream for Israeli customers.
The service is expected to launch in early 2027, pending regulatory approval.
