Bitget and UNICEF have expanded their digital education partnership to Bangladesh, Indonesia, and Bolivia, increasing the program's reach to 11 countries. The initiative aims to equip young people, particularly girls, with digital, financial, AI, and blockchain skills through game development and Web3 education.
The expansion was announced by the UNICEF Game Changers Coalition, adding Bangladesh, Indonesia, and Bolivia to existing participating countries, including Armenia, Brazil, Cambodia, India, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Morocco, and South Africa. Bitget joined the coalition in 2025 under a three-year partnership with UNICEF to support digital education through blockchain learning resources and Web3 mentorship.
According to the coalition, the program has reached more than 642,000 young people, parents, and teachers, with girls accounting for 52% of participants. Participants have also created over 20,000 video games while developing practical skills in coding, financial literacy, artificial intelligence, and digital technology. Sandra Visscher, Executive Director of UNICEF Luxembourg, described the expansion as another milestone in helping young people, especially girls, develop the STEAM and financial skills needed for the modern economy.
Bitget CEO Gracy Chen also reaffirmed the company's commitment to youth education, noting that she continues teaching part-time to better understand the needs of the next generation. The coalition estimates that the global gender gap in digital skills contributes to approximately $15 billion in economic losses each year, highlighting the importance of improving access to technology education for girls. Bitget has also supported several program activities, including Cambodia's National Game Jam in 2025, where students developed games addressing real-world issues such as waste management and healthy living.
The expansion strengthens Bitget's growing focus on digital education beyond cryptocurrency. By partnering with UNICEF to provide AI, financial, blockchain, and game development skills, the initiative aims to prepare more young people for the digital economy while helping reduce the gender gap in technology education.
